Dr Bronwen Wade-Leeuwen works closely with Maria Regina Catholic Primary School to develop STEAM learning activities with teachers then implement in the classroom.
Partnering with Bookform - education technology for story-collecting projects in the classroom that supports key 21st century skills - this Mother’s Day Project was designed for Year 5 and Year 6 students to apply critical and creative skills to create a gift over a period of five workshops. This project was designed to foster skills in drawing, water colour, chalk, photo editing and digital programs.
Teachers then collected the student’s final stories into a digital book and shared these in class and online with families and friends.
STEAM activities are designed for children to learn how to use some of the latest technological approaches to foster socio-emotional intelligence and creativity.

"Maria Regina Catholic Primary School is situated at Avalon on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. It is a small school community of staff and parents working towards providing children with a happy and challenging environment. We have a successful Preschool to Kindergarten Transition Program and cater for gifted and high achieving students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Maria Regina is a vibrant and dynamic school offering a variety of curricular opportunities and we are very excited to have this STEAM/Art project happening at Maria Regina.
